What these filters can and can't see
These filters match words in the published dish name only -- they can't see what's in a sauce, broth or gravy. ESS doesn't label halal or allergens, so there's no halal, nut-free or gluten-free filter here. If that matters to you, ask the kitchen.

About this menu
Where it comes from, what the week number means, and what stays the same week to week.
ESS (Eurest, part of Compass Group) caters CNRL Albian Village and publishes a weekly menu on its own public site. It is a four-page PDF -- breakfast, lunchroom, dinner and salad bar -- and some weeks it is a scan, meaning it contains no readable text whatsoever. A screen reader gets nothing from it, a search engine indexes nothing, and on camp WiFi it is a slow download to squint at.
The week shown above covers September 13, 2026 to September 19, 2026, is labelled Week 10 by ESS, and lists 253 individual dishes across the four services. It was read from the source PDF on 2026-09-13.
This is not an official page
This site has no connection to ESS, Eurest, Compass Group or Canadian Natural Resources Limited, and none of them have endorsed or reviewed anything here. The menu is their work and it is linked below so you can check it. Menus are revised without notice -- the file published as this was written was already a version 1.1 -- so if you are planning around a particular meal, open the source.
The week number repeats. The food does not.
The number on each menu is not the week of the year. The menu published in May 2026 was "Week 10"; the one published in September 2026 was "Week 9". They are positions in a numbering rotation.
Four dated menus have been collected -- Week 2 starting 15 March 2026, Week 10 starting 10 May 2026, Week 9 starting 6 September 2026 and Week 10 starting 13 September 2026. From the first three, testing every cycle length between 11 and 39 weeks, only 18 weeks fit; that predicted the fourth would be Week 10, and it was. On that basis the week of September 20, 2026 will be rotation week 11.
That is where the usefulness stops. We compared the two "Week 10" menus dish by dish: of 79 dinner dishes, 10 matched -- 13%, about the same as two unrelated weeks share. So the number cannot be used to predict what will be served, and this page does not try to. It shows the week ESS has actually published, and archives past weeks so you can see what has come through the kitchen before.
What repeats, whatever week it is
Reading the current week alongside the May one, some things hold steady regardless of the rotation:
- Every single breakfast this week includes bacon -- and the same held in the May menu.
- The build-your-own omelet station lands on Thursday -- the same day in both weeks checked.
- The pasta shape changes daily and does not repeat across the week: penne, fusilli, bowtie pasta, spaghetti, fettuccine, shell pasta.
- Breakfast always has hot cereal, dinner always has at least two soups, and the salad bar carries a standing set of vegetables, toppings and dressings.

Is this the official Albian Village menu?
No. This is a reader-friendly copy of the weekly menu that ESS publishes as a PDF, with the week of September 13, 2026 shown here as read on 2026-09-13. This site is not affiliated with ESS, Eurest, Compass Group or Canadian Natural. Always check the caterer's own page for the live version.
Does every oil sands camp serve this menu?
No. This is Albian Village only. Other camps use different caterers -- Civeo runs its own kitchens and publishes menus through its guest app, and Suncor's lodges are run by Dexterra -- so the dishes will differ, even though the overall shape of a camp menu tends to be similar.
Can I find out what is on next week's menu?
No. The menus are numbered by rotation, and the numbering does repeat every 18 weeks -- the week of September 20, 2026 will be rotation week 11 -- but when we compared two menus that both carried "Week 10" (May and September 2026), only 13% of the dinner dishes matched, about the same as two unrelated weeks. The number tells you where ESS is in its schedule; it does not tell you what will be cooked. Next week's menu is published the week it runs, on the ESS menu page linked above.

This site is installable, so the current week's menu opens straight from your home screen instead of a bookmark buried in the browser -- useful on camp WiFi. Use the Add to home screen button under today's meal, near the top of this page, to set it up -- there is nothing else to install.
